Migrating your SMM panel to a new platform without losing customers
Moving panels is mostly about data and communication. A step-by-step plan that keeps balances, orders and customer trust intact.
Switching platforms can cut costs and fix long-standing problems, but a badly planned move loses customers. Here's how to do it cleanly.
1. Inventory what you have
List everything that must move: customers and their balances, services and prices, provider connections, open orders, payment history and any custom pages.
2. Freeze before you export
Pick a quiet time, announce a short maintenance window and pause new orders. Exporting while orders are still flowing creates mismatches between the old and new panel.
3. Balances first
Balances are money your customers trust you with. Export them, import them, then check totals: the sum of all balances before and after must match exactly.
4. Let open orders finish
Orders already sent to providers are safest left to complete on the old system. Import them afterwards for history, or keep the old panel read-only for a few weeks.
5. Passwords
Password hashes can often be carried over; if not, customers set a new password through a reset link. Tell them in advance so nobody thinks they've been hacked.
6. Switch the domain
Point your domain to the new platform, lower the DNS TTL the day before, and test sign-in, a small order and a payment before announcing that you're back.
7. Communicate
A short message before, during and after the move — what changes, what doesn't — prevents most support tickets.
