How DDoS protection keeps an SMM panel online
A DDoS attack doesn't steal data — it just makes your panel unreachable. How attacks work and the layers that keep a panel standing.
A distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack floods a website with more traffic than it can handle. Nothing is stolen, but while it lasts your customers can't order — and competitors know it.
Why SMM panels get targeted
Panels compete for the same customers, and a rival being offline for a day means sales shift elsewhere. Attacks are cheap to rent, which makes them common.
Two kinds of attacks
- Network floods send enormous volumes of raw traffic to saturate the connection.
- Application attacks send requests that look legitimate — page loads, login attempts — but in numbers designed to exhaust the server.
The layers of protection
- An edge network (CDN). Traffic passes through a global network that absorbs floods before they reach your server.
- Caching. Public pages served from cache don't touch your database, so a flood against them costs you very little.
- Rate limiting. Each visitor can only make so many requests per minute; beyond that, requests are refused cheaply.
- Challenges for suspicious traffic. A proof-of-work CAPTCHA makes automated abuse expensive while real people pass through.
Design matters
A panel built so that anonymous pages need no database work is far harder to knock over than one that queries the database on every hit. That's how MediaPanal serves its public pages.
